Syntegon has launched the AIM9, a new automated inspection platform designed to increase throughput and flexibility for pharmaceutical manufacturers and contract manufacturing organizations.

The system combines visual inspection and container‑closure integrity testing, operating at speeds of up to 600 vials per minute. The company said the platform is intended to help drug producers meet rising productivity and quality‑assurance demands.

AIM9 supports vial sizes ranging from 2 mL to 250 mL, with changeovers designed for quick adaptation to different product formats. The platform offers integrated leak‑detection options, including headspace gas analysis and high‑voltage leak detection, eliminating the need for standalone equipment.

The machine incorporates multiple visual‑inspection technologies—such as area‑scan and line‑scan cameras, Syntegon’s SD technology, deep‑learning enhancements, and tools to differentiate bubbles from actual defects—to reduce false rejects.

Syntegon said the AIM9 is built on decades of experience with its global customer base, using a transport system intended to maintain stable handling throughout inspection. The platform is available in several standardized variants that can be customized for individual production needs.
