Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI) has released its CF3-C8030 centrifugal field-flow fractionation system designed to improve the separation and analysis of nanoparticle drug delivery systems and other complex pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical formulations.

The CF3-C8030 is designed to improve analytical capabilities by separating particles prior to analysis, enabling high-resolution characterization across a broad particle size range. This physical separation of particle populations helps eliminate interference and provides an accurate view of true particle size populations, including those difficult or impossible to resolve using conventional particle measurement methods.

High-Resolution Separation Across a Wider Size Range

The new CF3-C8030 system achieves enhanced separation performance through centrifugal forces up to 15,900 × g, allowing users to resolve closely sized particle populations with exceptional clarity. Increasing relative centrifugal force (RCF) directly improves resolution. This capability is especially valuable for the analysis of smaller nanoparticles and complex multimodal samples.

Versatile Integration With Analytical Technologies

The CF3-C8030 system supports flexible integration with a variety of complementary technologies, including multiple detector types and electron microscopy for detailed examination of fractionated samples. This adaptability enables comprehensive characterization workflows essential for advanced pharmaceutical and materials research.

In addition to nanoparticle drug delivery system analysis, the CF3-C8030 is ideal for pharmaceutical and materials science applications including gene therapies, vaccines and protein analysis characterization, novel formulation development, biopharmaceutical R&D, conductive materials, and semiconductor manufacturing.
