Editor’s Take: Consolidating life sciences services via acquisition provides an integrated partner for CDMOs and other pharma companies.

Pinnaql is acquiring Pharma Resource Group, a specialized consulting firm supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in the U.S. and globally.

Pinnaql Acquires Another Entity

In August 2025, Pinnaql, a 3 Boomerang Capital portfolio company, acquired Validation & Engineering Group (VEG). The acquisition of Pharma Resource Group is another step past that in Pinnaql’s continuing growth strategy, according to the company.

The new entity helps expand Pinnaql’s national platform across key life sciences hubs, but also provides clients one integrated partner. For pharmaceutical manufacturers, innovators in biotechnology, and CDMOs, all with complex programs, this eliminates coordination of multiple specialty providers.

Pinnaql now expands its core service area depth in formulation development, technology transfer, scale-up, and analytical sciences. This, Pinnaql says, boosts clients in navigating an increasingly complex landscape both scientifically and in terms of regulatory compliance.

Pharma Resource Group Relationships Continue

“The best outcomes don’t start at the regulatory filing,” Pinnaql CEO John Duffin said. “They begin in the lab, carry through tech transfer, and are validated on the manufacturing floor. PRG closes the loop. By connecting scientific development expertise with our engineering, quality, and compliance capabilities, we can now walk alongside clients.”

Duffin specified that that client partnership extends from the earliest formulation decisions through inspection-ready commercial manufacturing.

By putting this into practice, Duffin said, clients can launch therapies that are not only innovative, but readily compliant.

“For nearly 20 years, PRG has earned the trust of clients,” Pharma Resource Group Co-Founder and President John Raech said.

Raech added that Pinnaql gives PRG clients access to broad capabilities without disruption of prior relationships and standards.

“For clients managing more complex programs, this opens possibilities that weren’t available before,” Raech said.
