BD has begun global commercial sales of new configurations of its BD FACSDiscover A8 Cell Analyzer, adding three- and four-laser models to complement the five-laser version introduced earlier this year.

The expansion aims to make advanced spectral and real-time cell imaging technologies more accessible to academic, pharmaceutical, and biotech laboratories.

The analyzers incorporate BD SpectralFX Technology, which enables researchers to examine 50 or more characteristics of a single cell with high resolution and sensitivity, and BD CellView Image Technology, which provides high-speed imaging for real-time spatial and morphological analysis. Both new configurations offer the option to begin with a free trial of CellView Image Technology and upgrade later via software.

BD said all configurations feature high-throughput automation and software designed for large dataset management and standardization. The systems integrate with BD’s ecosystem of cell sorters and reagents, including BD Horizon RealViolet 828 and RealBlue 824 fluorochromes, which extend capabilities into the near-infrared spectrum.
