Scinai Biopharma Services is appointing Eilon Elmalem as Site Head of its CDMO facility in Yavne, Israel, effective June 14. Scinai Biopharma is the wholly owned CDMO subsidiary of Scinai Immunotherapeutics.

Elmalem is familiar with Scinai, having worked with the company in the last two years as an external consultant. Additionally, he was recently involved in transition and operational integration planning for the Yavne facility.

CDMO Activities in Yavne

As Site Head in Yavne, Elmalem will build on his previous role of supporting Scinai’s CDMO activities and operational development. He assumes responsibility for site operations and will continue to oversee engineering activities.

For this new role, Scinai says the transition and knowledge transfer process already began May 10. Outgoing Site Head Sylvia Kachalsky, PhD, is supervising that process prior to her planned retirement later in 2026. Kachalsky will continue to support the transition to ensure continuity of operations before beginning retirement leave.

Elmalem held senior leadership roles at Merck, Sigma-Aldrich Millipore, prior to joining Scinai. These included Vice President of Engineering and Process Development, overseeing those and other activities in Israel, Europe, and the U.S. Overall, he boasts more than 20 years’ experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.

Among that experience: management of multidisciplinary teams and establishment and expansion of good manufacturing practice (GMP) manufacturing facilities.

Scinai CEO Responds

“We are pleased to welcome Eilon into this important leadership role,” Scinai CEO Amir Reichman said. “Eilon has become an integral part of the growth and operational development of our CDMO platform. His extensive international operational experience, engineering expertise, and leadership capabilities will support anticipated continued expansion.”

Reichman also took a moment to acknowledge Kachalsky’s contributions.

“Her professionalism, operational expertise, and commitment have contributed significantly to the successful integration of the Yavne facility,” Reichman said.
