Colbert Packaging Unveils New Vision Inspection Hardware and Software

Colbert Packaging Corporation is implementing new hardware and upgraded software supporting a 100% vision inspection commitment for quality control.

Customers of Colbert stand to benefit from the fully integrated, automated system’s impact on the company’s cartons, labels, and inserts.

Why Vision Inspection Matters

The integrated system promises greater accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in prepress and printing production processes for Colbert’s custom paperboard products.

Colbert is utilizing EyeC Quality Control Systems as well as EyeC Inspection Scanners. The former helps ensure accurate verification of graphic files, to prepare them for production. The latter, accordingly, upgrades print production capabilities into a centralized hub that captures full-sheet scans for all printing presses.

From prepress to printing to finishing, customers’ approved art file proofs are compared to scans, press sheets, and die-cut cartons. The quality inspection process is meant to catch errors such as missing copy and print defects. It also accounts for elements such as braille and insert application.
