Vetter, a pharmaceutical service provider for the production of injectable drugs, has announced plans to build a new production facility in the Saarland region of southwest Germany, marking a significant milestone in the company’s long-term global growth strategy.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026. Initially, approximately €480 million have been allocated for the first construction phase of the new commercial production plant. The European Commission has approved up to €47 million of state aid for the project.

Vetter sees the potential to create up to 2,000 jobs in the long term. Operations are expected to commence in 2031.

In parallel, the company recently began construction on a new clinical production site in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA.
